I've simply bought a extremely brand-new mac small with an external mac superdrive optical disk recorder/player linked to the USB-c interface. This replaces my much older mac mini with built-in optical drive. My older mac small acquired an optical audio-out port for 5.1 DTS/Dolby sound into my house theatre system.

The new mac small provides 5.1 Dolby audio via the HDMl, and this functions with third-party software I use (Elgato EyeTV for illustration). Issue: - as I find it, the Dvd movie player app supplied with Mojave does not recognize, nor pass Dolby Digital DTS alerts from my Dvd movie press to the HDMI output! Can anyone explain this, or offer me with advice on how I might solve this concern to re-gáin Dolby Digital audio from Dvd movie's performed in my exterior mac superdrive.
